What We Believe
Commitment to Jesus Christ
We believe that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone as the only begotten Son of the Living God. All who come to Him by faith and repent of their sins receive forgiveness through Christ's death on the cross and live in newness of life through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. This new life of faith is marked by a joyful obedience to Jesus Christ, to God's Word and to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Mt 16:15-16, Eph 2:4-10, 2 Cor 5:21, Gal 5).
Authority of Scripture
We believe in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament and are committed to them as our final authority. We believe that they are the standard by which we are to order our lives, express our faith, function as a community, and are the catalyst for a life changing relationship with God. (2 Tim 3:16 - 17)
Evangelism
We believe that we must strive to live by word and action, lives that express the love and longing heart of God to those who are separated from Jesus Christ and his church. It is our responsibility and joy to share the good news with others. (Great Commission - Mt 28:19-20, Lk 15, I Tim 4:1-5)
Community
We believe that building authentic, life giving community is of utmost importance for the heart of the church. We believe
that it is best practiced in home groups through our loving relationships, characterized by accountability and concern for the spiritual, physical, and emotional well being of individuals. (Rom 12:9-21, Acts 2:42-44, Jn 13:34, I Jn 4:11-21)
Servant Ministry
We believe that every Christian is created for ministry, gifted for ministry and needed for ministry. We are committed to equip, empower and release the faithful to use their spiritual gifts to glorify God and build up the Body of Christ.
(Rom.12:1, I Cor 12-14; Eph 4)
Spiritual Growth
We believe that all believers must strive to grow in their knowledge and devotion to Christ and commit to a lifestyle of consistent growth through the study of his word, through prayer, worship and accountability to others within the church. Growth requires that we surrender every aspect of our lives to His Lordship. (Phil 3:7-4:1)
Prayer
We believe in prayer, and know that nothing of significance happens in God's Kingdom without it. Therefore, we seek
to make prayer a priority, inviting God to lead, restore, heal and transform our lives, our church, our community, and the world. (Jn 14:15-31; Lk 11:1-13).
